  • Teacher of Business Studies (£5k Golden Hello)

    Hurstmere School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our Business Studies department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Teacher of Business to start from January 2025.

    The opportunity for personal development and progression at Hurstmere is key to our success. An active commitment to staff development through a strong and consistent focus and dialogue around teaching and learning pedagogy makes this an ideal position for candidates committed to being the best practitioner they can be.

    This is a full time, permanent role paid on Outer London STPC Main Teachers Pay Range or Unqualified Pay Range, dependant on experience. 

    The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £5k. This is split into the following payments - £2.5k subject to the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, and a further £2.5k to be paid in January 2026 as a retention incentive. This is subject to the successful candidate remaining at the school for at least that next year.

    This post would suit an experienced or Early Career Teacher with good prospects for career development.

  • SEN Teaching Assistant

    Hurstmere School wish to appoint an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support services to our Learning Support Department. We are looking for a candidate that can support pupils, parents, teachers and the school to establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment in which children make good academic progress.

  • Cover Supervisor

    Hurstmere School

    Salary Bexley NJC 7.1-7.4 (FTE £31,524 - £32,931)

    Hurstmere School is seeking to appoint a highly effective Cover Supervisor, to start with immediate effect.

    Support Staff play a vital role in assisting teaching staff to make the education of their students their first concern, and are accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. The role of Cover Supervisor is to ensure an engaging and safe working environment for classes whose teacher is absent in order for all students to be able to access and complete the work set by the member of teaching staff.

    This is a full time, permanent, Term Time Only role, paid based on the Bexley NJC pay scale point 7.1-7.4 (FTE £31,524 - £32,921 - actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis).

    The working pattern for this position consists of Monday-Thursday 8:10 - 16:00, and  Friday 8:10 - 15:20 Friday, with a 30 minute unpaid break.
